About Shipbytes

Shipbytes publishes the Laravel packages that came out of building and running production apps, and writes down what was learned on the way.

2
packages on Packagist, both MIT
41
Blade components with a spec each
7
optional admin modules in the UI Kit

What it ships

Two things today. Laravel UI Kit is the auth and admin scaffolding that every new Laravel app needs and every starter kit does slightly differently. Design System is the token-first set of Blade components and specs extracted from a dashboard that had grown to roughly 1,100 Livewire directives. Both are documented here, with screenshots that are regenerated on every release so they never go stale.

The blog covers the same ground the packages came from: query performance, package and module architecture, Docker-first operations, and build logs that explain decisions rather than announce features.

How it is built

  • Packages are tested in CI against a fresh Laravel app on every push: install, build, route cache, HTTP smoke.
  • Every component in the design system is driven in a real browser by its test suite.
  • This site is static files behind Cloudflare; posts are written in Ghost and rendered here at build time.

Maintainer

Shipbytes is maintained by Abhishek Fouzdar, a senior PHP and Laravel developer with seven years of production work on SaaS products and dashboards. The packages exist because the same pieces kept getting rebuilt from one project to the next.
